Welcome to the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild!
We are the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild! We live and breath the rich and colorful history of Catskill fly tying.
In 1993 Floyd Franke and Matthew Vinciguerra formed the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild. These individuals recognized the need for an organization that would, preserve, protect and enhance the Catskill fly tying heritage, work cooperatively to promote the work of present Catskill fly tyers, provide a forum for the sharing of information and promote the development of future generations of Catskill fly tyers.
Members of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild firmly believe that the development of fly fishing in the Catskill Mountains of New York is synonymous with the development of fly fishing in the United States. This rich heritage is seen as the foundation of the Guild’s present efforts.
We hold regular monthly meetings in Roscoe, New York. Roscoe is also affectionately known as “Trout Town, USA” and is the in the heart of the Catskills at the convergence of the Beaverkill and Willowemoc rivers at Junction Pool. We are a loose knit but avid bunch of fly tyers, Catskill historians, collectors and fly fishers. The Catskill Fly Tyers Guild also attends most if not all of the fly fishing and fly tying shows in the Northeast.
Membership in the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild is a rewarding experience especially if you live in or near the Catskills area of New York. The Guild holds regular meetings and events.
Membership is $10 per calendar year. You get six newsletters per year. Memberships start in February and if you join after November 1, your membership is extended through February of the following year. Your membership includes a pamphlet “Favorite Rivers and Favorite Flies” published by the Guild members.
